Ever ask yourself how you have gotten to a certain point in your life? I have been asking that question a lot in the last 6 mos or so. In the late part of last year my husband and I both turned 40, my "baby" boy turn 13 and my "baby" girl turned 10 (two whole hands)! Where did the time go?? Where did my babies go?? I am so thankful that I scrapbook, because I have the opportunity to relive so many moments of our life over and over, instead of just putting the pics away in boxes. Scrapbooking can also bring out a very emotional side to me. Sometimes when I look back at the pics of my "babies" my heart aches because I realize just how fast the days pass by.
Another "how did I get here" moment took place tonight. I dropped my son and friends at the movies tonight. I had tears in my eyes as my son looked back at me (probably to make sure I wasn't following w/a camera) and then turned and went off with his friends. Talk about a "he doesn't need me anymore moment" - wow! I know deep in my heart that we have raised him to be a great person, which is why he has been given the privilege to go with just friends, but it really ranked up there as one of the hardest things that I have ever had to do. I know that there are many more of these moments ahead, but I can not see it getting any easier. I will continue to pray that the Lord will watch over and protect my "babies". I will also say a prayer for all of the other mothers that have gone, are going or will go through these same moments to have the strength that is needed to stay behind and let them go.
View entering my happy place. I absolutely love Doodlebug, so I use many of their products and colors to decorate my room with. 
Storage for 12x12 solid cardstock. I also use for stickers (by theme) and pattern paper scraps (by theme). 8 of these drawers are for my Disney supplies, 6 are for Doodlebug, and the rest are for other specific themes that I use tons of (ie. dogs, basketball, karate).
This is a bakers rack that I got from a little shop that was closing. I use it for my zipemate and storage.
This wall has bookshelves from Ikea that use to hold my kids toys (now it holds mine).
These pictures are of my wonderful desk. My brother is a carpenter and does jobs at different corporate offices. Someone was getting rid of this desk set up because it had a few scratches on it. He used it in his house until he found another set at another job and was so kind as to pass this one on to me! It is deep enough to hold 12x12! The two cabinets on each side are great for storing my albums I have yet to use. It is also equipped with two overhead lights, the computer area, and a super large work area. There is enough room for me to spread out and the kids to still sit and do homework by me.
I use the built in file cabinets to hold my 81/2 x11 cardstock, idea files, and more.
These hold some of my embellishments. The rest are in a craftmate tote.
Storage unit under desk holds scraps. The white shelf holds jars of ribbon, buttons, stamps, Doodlebug sugar coated chipboard letters...
This blogging stuff is harder than it looks. It did not take long to set it up, however coming up with something to say took quite some time. I have spent a couple of years reading other peoples blogs and thought that maybe I am ready to begin my own. Wish me luck or just don't read it.
I spend a lot of time looking at scrapareas online - I love to see everyones ideas and decorations. I am lucky to have my own scraproom (with a door!) and I have spent the last year setting it up. I think I finally have everything in a place that works and I am loving it!
