Doodlebug Design Team Submissions

Doodlebug is having a Design Team call and I decided to enter. These are my submissions. No matter what the out come - I had a great time creating them and love how they turned out!!

Doodlebug Goodies!

Here is a picture of me and some of my favorite things. There is the adorable pads of paper, my button bracelet and my apron!! Love them!! Doodlebug items make me happy!!

CHA Fun!

So we spent the week at CHA and what a blast we had. What was my favorite, you ask? Well, of course, DOODLEBUG!!!!!!! Cynthia and her team have once again created the cutest lines ever. I just do not know how they keep doing it!! The girls blessed me with a new Doodlebug button braclet and...wait for it...ONE OF THE APRONS THAT THEY WERE WEARING ADORNED WITH DOODLEBUG BUTTONS!!!!! I will take some pictures and add them.

The other booth we spent a lot of time at was Cricut. I have been working on becoming part of the cricut demo team. When I left for the show I was set up to demo at 2 stores and by the end of the show I was set up at 5 stores!! I am so excited. So back to the booth, I was there checking out the Yudu and the cricut cake considering I will be required to demo these machines also. We were also checking out the new Imagine Machine. We did the make and takes and listened to the demos, because the more you did the more raffle tickets you received! Well, it was worth it. I won 2 cartridages and 3 of the new cuttlebug embossing plates that coordinate with carts (Cindy Loo, Wall Decor and More, and Create-a-Critter)!! So excited!! This is not even the best news yet...wait for it...my friend, Evelyn, won the BRAND NEW CRICUT IMAGINE MACHINE!!!!!!! Can you believe it??? She won a $600 machine!!! OMG!!!

We also met Robyn, from The Pink Stamper!!!! OMG, she is as sweet as can be. I actually felt like I was stalking her. We met and took this picture, then we invited her and Karlee to sit with us at lunch and then bumped into them a couple of more times. Thanks Robyn for being so sweet!

I even met Flat Bunny, from BoBunny. He is the cutest little thing. I found him in the Halloween section, but he look scared, so we move him to the new Winter Joy line. Love the ladies from BoBunny, love BoBunny Products and love Flat Bunny!!!

We had a great time and I can't wait until all the new products ship!!!!

I think I am caught up, SDU news and Scooter the scrapper

Here is my new helper. Scooter has learned quickly what scrapbooking, cameras and mommy's office means. He like to be right in the middle of things. He has also learned how tasty scrapbooking supplies can be - needless to say, mommy is not very happy about that. He is lucky he is so cute.

I believe this is it for now. I did these two layouts today while doing a demo at the local Michaels. (The pink one still needs a title - it hasn't come to me yet). I have just completed the training program from EKSuccess for SDU (Scrapbooking Design and You). I will be honest - I am not sure if these classes will take off. They are geared towards the beginner scrapbooker. I figure I will give it a try and in the meantime enjoy getting paid to sit and scrapbook for a couple of hours!

Stickles storage

Here is my new stickles storage. I added strip of velcro (love that stuff) to the top of the shelf and to the stickle bottles. Once again, ta-da, new stickle storage! Don't they look pretty?

New cartridage storage

I out grew my old storage system for my cartridages, so here is what I came up with. This is a CropperHopper photo storage case.

One side holds my books and key pads. There are adjustable dividers that I used. Then I just used wire cutters and snipped out the middle divider in the other section. The empty space will house my cord and markers.

This is my favorite part. The opposite side of the case is made for 12x12 paper. I attached velcro squares to my cartridages, the lid and lower side. Ta da - fits two layers of cartridages (84 cartridages total). This is a great case for anyone who travels with their cartridages.

Getting caught up!

It has been a long time since I posted any work. I have been working on wedding stuff for my neice, who is getting married next weekend. (I will post all shower and wedding stuff after the wedding). So, tonight my goal is to get caught up!

This is a retirement card I made for FIL. I used sand embossing powder by Stampendous purchased at Archivers. It is really cool stuff - the pic does not do it justice.

This year Maddie was old enough to be a Crew Guide at church camp. She had kindergarteners and they were the monkeys. These were goody bags that we made for the kids in her group. We used the Create a Critter cartridage. It is fast becoming one of my favorites.

Our New Addition

Here's Scooter! Yep, that would make dog number 4!! When I saw him I figured what's another 5 lbs at this point. He is a Yorkie, 6 mos old, weighs 3.9 lbs. right now and should top out around 5 lbs. The others are getting along with him quite well. TT is the most affectionate with him. Squirt likes to tease him. Busters is very good with him and extremely gentle, however he does not like Scooter by him while he is eating! I must admit he is a huge Momma's boy and I am kind of enjoying it!

I did it!!!

I have spent the last week trying to figure out how to make a card for my patient, Emily. She loves dolphins and I wanted to make her a valentine with a dolphin theme. I came up with the wording - Emily, I'd flip if you would be my Valentine. I pictured using a cut out dolphin, but how to make it flip?? Well, tonight it hit me - a spinner card!! I have never actually made one, but after checking out some of the videos on youtube...whala! I hope Emily loves it as much as I do!!

Christmas 2009

This is another layout from my friend Carrie. The pictures are from this past Christmas. As you can see, my kids have reached the age of not so fancy Christmas outfits. It is a battle that I have decided is not worth having with them. If I buy them good clothes for the holiday, they never wear them again - not worth it! I was pleased with the pictures and how well they match the colors of this layout. Squirt and TT were not to happy with their Christmas attire either. Poor Buster didn't even make it to the layout. All he wanted to do with the hat is play keep away with us (again, not worth it!).

Finally an update!

Wow - time really gets away from me. Well, here are some of the projects that I completed over New Year's Weekend. My friend, Evelyn and I had a blast cropping!

These pictures were taken at a local cupcake shop. It is the cutest little shop and it has great cupcakes. This shop is a total doodlebug shop. It is doodlebug cupcake pink and limeade green. I could sit in this shop forever. It made for the perfect pictures to go with Doodlebug "cupcake" line.

This picture is not the best - but after the cupcake shop we went across the street to a candy store. Maddie won a $25 gift certificate at the ScrapPink event and wanted to spend some of it. She got some great after Christmas deals and I got some great pictures to go with the Doodlebug "candy" line.

Here is my take on the Target mailboxes. I made this one for my chemoangel patient. Can you tell she loves dolphins? When I saw this paper by Best Creation Inc., I knew it was the pp for this project!

I made this frame for my scraproom. I used Doodlebug (surprise, surprise) rubons. The picture is of Maddie and I after our 5k for Breast Cancer.

Happy New 2010!!

I hope everyone had a great New Year's. I spent it - Scrapping!! My friend, Evelyn and I started scrapping on Thursday around 3 and are continuing until Sunday afternoon! I did miss the family, but the kids both had several friends over and I heard that Dad handle it just great!! I will post finished product next week!

Glitter Ornaments

Okay - here is my other new found fun thing. I just love these glitter ornaments - so many possibilities. I made this one - with my favorite Doodlebug products - for my scraproom. Again these are super easy. A squirt of Pledge (with future shine) swish around pour out extra, add glitter swish around pour out extra, decorate outside with vinyl or rub-ons. Give it a try - you'll love it!!

Love these Tiles!!

I have seen these tiles on the cricut mb for awhile and finally decided to give it a try. I love them! They are so easy to make and so inexpensive! The tiles are from Home Depot - 9 for $4. I printed pictures on my printer. Taped tissue paper over the pic and reran through printer. Let dry. Cover tile with thin coat of modge podge, place tissue pic down, cover with another thin coat on mod pod. I let it dry and then added another coat the opposite direction. Let dry. Spray with Decopoage Hi-Gloss Finish. Let dry. I added craft foam to the bottom of tile to keep from scratching table. I can't believe how easy! My kids even loved them - Michael made the Yoda coaster himself! I have made many more, unfortunately I can not post them - Christmas gifts - don't want to ruin their surprise!

Breast Cancer 5K

Here we are before the walk/run. Karin, Chris, Andie, Derreck, Maddie and myself. We walked as Team Mackk - the hair salon that my nieces own. I have never participated in a walk and did nothing to prepare for it. We finished in 55 minutes. Maddie decided to run with Andie. I believe Andie finished in 29 minutes and Maddie ran it in 33 minutes! She really amazed me! We all had a great time. Since it was my birthday weekend, I then treated myself to a massage. I think I found a new tradition.

National Card Making Day!

I am good or what? I took some time yesterday to make some cards. I had no idea it was National Card Making Day until I went on the message boards last night. This is my design for this years Christmas card. It is extremely simple, but sometimes simple works. This idea came to me this summer with the idea of using a sentiment that wished warm wishes. (Get it - warm? LOL) Well, I was at the Scrap Expo in August and came across a stamp that read Warm Winter Wishes - it was meant to be!!

This card is for my new card patient. I written before about being a card angel at chemoangels.com. My past patient went into remission and graduated from the program. My new patient is an 11 year old girl that has a brain tumor. If you would like to experience the unbreakable spirit of this girl, please visit her journal on http://www.caringbridges.com/. Type in emilywilson. This little girl has an outlook on life that we could all learn from. She always includes a joke or riddle in her journal entry, so I like to send her a card filled with jokes. This card includes dog jokes. What kind of dog does dracula own? A Bloodhound! LOL



This next card is a thank you that I made for some of the ladies that attended our ScrapPink event. The inside reads - Thanks for saving the Hooters! I have to admit that I lifted the idea from Archivers, but put my own spin on it. The owl is from the Happily Ever After cricut cartridge. It is hard to see, but I stamped a ribbon on her chest with versamark. I think that she turned out adorable.





I even got a layout done! I love these pictures. Before my kids were in school we would take pictures in November (between the October and December birthdays). Once the school pictures started we went less for the "family" shoots. I think it is time to make an appointment for pictures. :)

ScrapPink

Well, this past weekend my friend Gina and I held our ScrapPink Event and I must say it was a huge success. We had 15 people attend and raised $1,170 for the Susan G. Komen foundation!!! A great time was had by all. We had tons of food, raffle prizes, goodie boxes and lots of fun! We had over 60 raffle prizes donated by local retailers, some of our guests and some scrapbooking vendors. We hope to make this an annual event!

Time? Where does it go? Last post July - how does that happen? LOL

Well, the kids are back in school. They are both at the top of the food chain at school this year - Michael 8th grade - Maddie 5th grade. Back to school for me means back to crazy. Early mornings, helping at school, lots of homework, working at the karate school (both Michael and I), student council (both kids), chorus for Maddie, basketball for Maddie, did I mention LOTS of homework? I do miss the lazy days of summer.

I have been extremely busy putting together a ScrapPink Event with a friend of mine. For those of you who don't know about this cause - it is sponsered by Scrapbook Etc. It is a scrapbook event with proceeds going to Susan G. Komen. I have planned this event twice before for local scrapbook stores. This year we decide to hold it at my friend's scraproom that we use once a month. We have been planning for sometime and this upcoming Saturday is the big day. We have so many raffle prizes that have been donated by local business that it is almost crazy!! I am humbled by the amount of places that have come through for this event. I can not wait! Even Maddie is going with me! I will update with the amount that we collect. Wish us luck!

Layouts!!

Finally some layouts!! We had a great time as always and as you can see I got some layouts done! Some I created from scratch and some I had from past classes and was finally able to add pictures and finishing touches to. Either way I came home feeling great about the work I got done. Yeah me! I must send out a thank you to Gina for the Brush Lettering on my Halloween layout and Carrie for the awesome winter and 4th of July 2 page layouts!
